Netflix’s critically acclaimed documentary “Last Chance U” returned for Season 2 at long last on Friday morning, bringing with it some ACC ties.
The show, which chronicles the junior college football life at East Mississippi C.C. in Scooba, Miss., picks a handful of players to focus on above the rest of the team. For this season, that includes a former Louisville linebacker Tim Bonner and current Pitt defensive lineman Kam Carter.
Bonner transferred out of Louisville in the fall of 2015 and landed at EMCC, while Carter transferred to EMCC from Penn State and enrolled at Pitt this summer.
Bonner committed to Ole Miss in the fall, but instead wound up at Florida Atlantic. In the premiere episode, Bonner explains his transfer, saying it was a “long story” that he was falsely accused of having a gun in his dorm room. Bonner said he was told by a school administrator he must leave Louisville or be charged by a female student uncomfortable with having him on campus.
