Arizona State student athletes are shining in the classroom.
The Arizona State athletics department announced on Wednesday its student athletes recorded a program-best Academic Progress Rate (APR) average of 992 over a four-year period (2013-2017).
“I’m extremely proud of the continuous upward improvement and all-time high of our multi-year APR score as an athletics department,” ASU vice president for university athletics Ray Anderson said, per the school’s official website. “We continue to improve academically because of the hard work led by our Office of Student-Athlete Development as well as by our coaches, staff, faculty, and sport administrators. Our goal as a department is to give Sun Devil student-athletes the greatest chance to excel athletically and academically.”
Arizona State had the second-highest mark in the Pac-12. Stanford tallied the best score.
