Curious as to the top 2019 recruiting goals for Arizona State under Herm Edwards? A quick glance at the Sun Devils’ small list of commitments tells a clear story: adding depth at quarterback is necessary.
Though ASU only has two commits for 2019, they are both passers. The latest is 4-star recruit Joey Yellen, a product of Mission Viejo, Calif., who picked the Sun Devils over a handful of scholarship offers, including one from national runner-up Georgia.

The 6-foot-2, 211-pound Yellen is ranked No. 304 in the country by the 247Sports composite, which has him as the 13th-best pro-style passer in the 2019 class and the No. 36 prospect from California.
ASU’s other 2019 pledge is from 3-star Oregon QB Ethan Long, who committed on June 4. Presumptive starter Manny Wilkins is a redshirt senior and ASU has seen backups Blake Barnett and Brady White transfer. It did not sign a passer in the 2018 class.
