Arizona State received a sizable boost in its recruiting efforts on August 5 when 6-foot-5, 285-pound offensive tackle Jarrett Patterson offered his commitment to the Sun Devils.
100% Committed to Arizona State 🔱
— Jarrett Patterson (@jpatt78) August 5, 2017
Patterson, a senior at Mission Viejo High School in Mission Viejo, Calif., had 22 offers to his name, including TCU, Washington State, Arizona, Cal, Iowa State, Stanford, and UCLA, among many others.
His commitment breaks up a relatively mum period for the Sun Devils. While conference rivals USC and Oregon have been receiving verbal pledges daily, this is Arizona State’s first recruit from the Class of 2018 to commit in the month of August.
Patterson is a three-star recruit, per 247Sports.com, which ranked him No. 55 for his position in the nation. He will join fellow three-star recruit Hunter Mayginnes, a guard for Hamilton High School in Chandler, Ariz., in Arizona State’s Class of 2018 offensive linemen.
