Jordan Brown, a 5-star forward and the best available prospect in the 2018 recruiting class, committed to Nevada on Friday morning, according to 247 Sports’ Evan Daniels.
Brown was down to three schools: Arizona, California and Nevada.
Brown, a McDonald’s High School All-American, is ranked as the No. 17 player in the 2018 class and the No. 1 ranked player in California, per 247 Sports.
The 6-foot-11, 195 pound recruit had Arizona in his final three despite never having visited the school. He visited Nevada three times during the course of his recruitment.
Brown told 247 Sports that his connection to Nevada coach Eric Musselman was a big reason he committed to Nevada.
“He was the first coach to offer me and he’s been there since the beginning of it all,” Brown said, per 247 Sports. “It’s nice having that good relationship like that from the very beginning. He would always text me every day and every morning, just random stuff, just a picture of the program. He was really consistent with everything he did.”
