As the Phoenix Suns now possess the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NBA draft, there’s plenty of speculation as to whether Deandre Ayton, the star Arizona Wildcats center, could be the Suns’ selection.
One expert, ESPN’s Fran Fraschilla, thinks Ayton should be the Suns’ focus.

Fraschilla has a unique viewpoint on the debate. He said he’s watched Ayton extensively — he was ESPN’s play-by-play man for the UA-ASU game in Tempe on Feb. 15 — and he closely follows international basketball to prepare for his role as an ESPN analyst on its broadcasts of the FIBA Basketball World Cup.
The choice, if it were his to take?
“Overall, I’d have a hard time passing on Deandre Ayton if I was the Suns,” Fraschilla told azcentral sports.
It’s Ayton’s raw ability that has the ESPN analyst advocating for his top selection.
“He has breathtaking talent and athleticism,” Fraschilla said.
