Back in May, Arizona football received a commitment from Boise State defensive lineman Dereck Boles. A month later, it was reported Boles would instead transfer to South Florida and the Wildcats would receive USC Trojans DT transfer Noah Jefferson.
Now, fast-forwarding to Pac-12 media days, Rodriguez told the Arizona Daily Star that Boles is on Arizona’s campus finishing up academic work and will remain with the Wildcats in the fall while Jefferson will sit out a season.
As it turns out, JC defensive lineman Dereck Boles is coming to Arizona, and USC transfer Noah Jefferson is not, according to RichRod.

“It’s not 100 percent yet, because he’s got some academic work he’s got to finish up, but we expect Dereck Boles to be part of our program pretty soon,” Rodriguez said.
The 6-foot-3 Boles was dismissed from Boise State after biting off a piece of his teammates’ ear during an altercation in 2016.
Boles already has a tie with the Wildcats in defensive coordinator Marcel Yates, who is entering his second season with the program after coming over from BSU.
