Class of 2017 Baylor recruit Trestan Ebner was recruited as a wide receiver. However, after major injury issues across the roster, Ebner is now listed as a running back on the official roster.
Matt Rhule announced during media days that he expects to miss star running back Terence Williams for at least three games with a shoulder injury. That left JaMycal Hasty (119 carries for 623 yards, 3 TDs) as the only returning scholarship running back on the roster.
Early-enrollee running back Abram Smith tore his ACL during his first practice at Baylor. Other than Ebner, true freshman John Lovett is the only other scholarship running back on the roster.
Baylor announced Ebner as a wide receiver when he signed in February. He caught 57 passes for 1,074 yards and 16 touchdowns during his senior season at Henderson (Texas). For his efforts, he earned Class 4A All-State honorable mention.
