Baylor’s list of 2019 football commits went from eight to seven on Tuesday, with the loss of 3-star Hendrickson (Pflugerville, Texas) safety Myles Brooks. Brooks announced on Tuesday that he is de-committing from Baylor and reopening his recruitment.

Brooks stated that he still maintains an interest in the Bears, whom he committed to in May. However, Arkansas and SMU have kept hard after the 6-foot-2, 190-pound safety, and those two schools are believed to now be the front-runners for Brooks’ commitment.
Brooks is currently rated the No. 49 safety, the No. 83 player in the Texas and the No. 683 overall player in the Class of 2019. His de-commitment means that 3-star Lewisburg (Olive Branch, Miss.) prospect Hakeem Vance is the only defensive back currently committed to Matt Rhule’s 2019 class.
