In 247Sports’ ranking, Jones rates as a 3-star linebacker. He’s the No. 52 inside linebacker in the nation and the No. 183 overall prospect in the state of Texas. At 6-foot-3 and 227 pounds, he’s a big body that can clog up space in the middle of the field. He plays for Odessa Permian High School, one of the most storied programs in Texas.
Jones is the first inside linebacker to commit to Baylor in 2019. The Bears currently have the No. 7 class in the Big 12, according to 247Sports.
