Just hours after 3-star safety Myles Brooks de-committed from Baylor, Matt Rhule’s 2019 class is back up to eight. On Tuesday, 3-star Prestonwood Christian (Plano, Texas) safety Solomon Turner announced his commitment to the Bears.

A 6-foot-2, 200-pound safety, Turner is currently ranked the No. 91 safety, the No. 150 player in the state of Texas and the No. 1125 overall player in the Class of 2019 by 247Sports composite. Turner wasted no time in committing to Baylor, who offered him on Sunday.
Turner is a versatile defensive player who has played mostly outside linebacker with Prestonwood Christian but projects as a safety in the Big 12. As such, he fits the mold of a new age-type of box safety who has more size but also the speed to cover receivers.
Turner is the eighth commitment of Matt Rhule’s 2019 signing class, and the second defensive back. Three-star Lewisburg (Olive Branch, Miss.) safety Hakeem Vance announced his commitment to Baylor in February.
