Baylor baseball has lived to fight another day.
On Saturday, the Bears outlasted Wright State, 11-5, in an elimination game in the Stanford Regional. Despite the lopsided score, though, this one was still a contest down the stretch.
Davis Wendzel drove Richard Cunningham in with an RBI double in the 1st to open the scoring, but late-game scoring proved to be the difference. After entering the 8th inning knotted at 4-4, Baylor poured on four runs in the 8th, and three more in the 9th to pad the cushion late.
In doing so, Baylor saved its season.
The Bears will play the loser of Stanford/Cal State Fullerton in yet another elimination game on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. CT.
