Baylor has released 2018 signee Ibrahim Ali from his letter of intent, a source confirmed to DieHards’ Shehan Jeyarajah, allowing him to attend school elsewhere.
The release was first reported by SicEmSports.
Ali committed to the Bears in March and signed in April 11. However, he will now explore other options. SicEmSports reported he will visit Arkansas.

Ali was previously a 2017 recruit before re-classifying as a 2018 prospect. Without him, Baylor does not have a power forward in the 2018 recruiting class. The Bears needed depth in the frontcourt with the departures of Jo Lual-Acuil, Terry Maston, and Nuni Omot.
The big man from Southwest Christian Academy in Little Rock, Ark., is unranked in the 247Sports Composite rankings. Baylor currently has the No. 69 overall class and the No. 7 class in the Big 12 for 2019.
