Solomon transferred to Baylor as a graduate transfer from Arizona in 2017. He threw for 6,922 yards and 49 touchdowns before injuries derailed his career.
The senior provides more dual-threat ability than incumbent Zach Smith. In his first two seasons, Solomon rushed for 489 yards and five touchdowns. His later struggles were affected greatly by his offensive line struggles.
With Solomon atop the depth chart, Smith slides into the No. 2 role on the depth chart. Freshman early-enrollee Charlie Brewer slides into the No. 3 role. Baylor will likely try to redshirt him.
