Baylor was unable to land 2018 point guard Tyler Harris, who committed to Memphis on Friday.
The Bears and the Tigers were the final two teams in the running for the 3-star prospect from Memphis (Tenn.) Cordova. He announced his decision after the school retired his jersey.

Harris’ decision means Baylor is still in need of a guard in the 2018 class. Fifth-year senior guard Manu Lecomte exhausted his eligibility last season, and guards Jake Lindsey and King McClure are both seniors this year.
The Bears currently have four commits for 2018, including shooting guard Darius Allen from Palm Beach State. The other three commits are front court players.
Baylor has the No. 52 overall class in the country and the No. 7 class in the Big 12, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
