Texas, TCU, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma are all still in play for the services of 3-star prospect Javonne Shepherd, an offensive tackle from North Forest High School in Houston.

247Sports ranks Shepherd as the 48th-best prospect in the state of Texas for 2019 and the 42nd offensive tackle nationally. The other two schools still on Shepherd’s radar are Texas A&M and Houston.
Of the four Big 12 schools listed, Oklahoma has the most complete 2019 class. The Sooners have six verbal commits, including 5-star dual-threat quarterback Spencer Rattler. TCU and Texas each have one recruit in the 2019 class, and Texas Tech has two. 247Sports has one crystal ball prediction listed for Shepherd, and the prediction is that he’ll go to Texas.
Much of the 2019 recruiting landscape has yet to play out. There will certainly be some movement after the Dec. 20-22 early signing period, but as of right now, there’s no clear front-runner in next year’s edition of the college football arms race.
