The Big 12 benefited from Texas Tech’s stunning 27-23 comeback victory at Texas on Friday night.
It means that eight Big 12 teams will be bowl eligible, with the Red Raiders becoming the most recent to earn that designation.
For the 38th time in school history, the Red Raiders will be bowl eligible. It will send them to a bowl game for the first time since 2015, when LSU rolled to a 56-27 victory in the Texas Bowl.
It may not have been an artistic success. But it will send Kliff Kingsbury and the Red Raiders bowling.
And after the struggles earlier this season, that’s something anybody involved with Texas Tech football should be thankful for.
Big 12’s bowl-eligible teams:
Oklahoma (10-1) *
Oklahoma State (8-3) *
Iowa State (7-4) *
West Virginia (7-4) *
Kansas State (6-5) *
Texas Tech (6-6)
* – Games remaining on Saturday.
