Cassius Stanley is one of the top recruits in the Class of 2019, and there’s a decent chance he could be headed to the Big 12 to play college ball.
Stanley, a 5-star shooting guard from Studio City, Cali., named his Top 6 schools on Monday night. Texas and Kansas both made the cut. All of the other schools hail from the Pac-12 Conference, which is much closer to Stanley’s hometown.

Stanley is the No. 1 player in the state of California in 247Sports’ ranking, and the No. 2 shooting guard nationwide. He’s a potential superstar, and whatever team gets him will be lucky to enjoy his play.
Kansas has one prospect already committed for 2019, as 4-star point guard Markese Jacobs pledged to the Jayhawks way back in 2016. Texas is still looking for its first commitment for next year’s class.
The 247Sports crystal ball predicts Stanley to choose either UCLA or USC. If Kansas or Texas could poach him away from the west coach, Stanley could make a major impact right away in the Big 12.
