Two Big 12 schools are on the list for Notre Dame cornerback Nick Watkins, who announced his decision to seek a graduate transfer earlier this year.
Watkins is reportedly considering TCU and West Virginia, along with Houston and SMU, according to ESPN’s Adam Rittenburg.
Spoke with former #NotreDame CB Nick Watkins, a graduate transfer who hopes to decide his next school by June 1. Watkins is taking an official visit to #WestVirginia this week and plans to take unofficials to #TCU, #SMU and #Houston after he graduates and returns home to Texas.

While at Notre Dame, Watkins had to fight through injuries. He broke his arm in 2016, which would’ve been his junior year. He rallied as a senior to put up 29 tackles, 22 of which were solo. He also broke up 8 passes and picked off a pass.
Coming out of high school, Watkins was a 4-star recruit from Bishop Dunne High School in Dallas, Tex. He was rated as the No. 17 cornerback in the Class of 2014 by 247Sports.
The Horned Frogs could also use help in the secondary, especially after the graduation of defensive backs Ranthony Texada and Nick Orr.
