The 2018 Red River Showdown between Texas and Oklahoma will reportedly be televised on FOX.
The announcement for the contest was made during a FOX Upfront presentation on Monday in New York, N.Y. The annual meeting between the Longhorns and Sooners will be played on Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas, Texas.
The Michigan-Ohio State and Michigan-Michigan State games are also slated to be televised on the network, per the announcement.
Per Sooner Scoop’s Eddie Radosevich, the 2018 matchup will mark just the second time in the last 20 years that the Red River Showdown has ever been televised on FOX or one of its affiliate networks. The 2016 game was shown on FS1.
Oklahoma has won each of the last two meetings, with Texas most recently defeating the Sooners in the 2015 matchup. The Longhorns own a 61-46 edge over the Sooners in the all-time series, with five ties in between.
