On the same day a pair of California football players were selected in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Golden Bears got a commitment from another future prospect that could help them as soon as 2019.
Zach Zimos pledged to Cal on Saturday, picking the Bears over Boise State, Houston, Oklahoma State and SMU.

Zimos is a 6-foot-4, 205-pound linebacker from Richmond, Texas. According to 247Sports he is the No. 934 player in the 2019 recruiting class, the 72nd-best outside linebacker and the No. 113 prospect from Texas.
He is the seventh member of Cal’s 2019 class, the sixth to commit since April 13. The Bears’ haul so far ranks No. 28 in the country and third-best in the Pac-12 behind Washington and Oregon.
