Tre Watson’s final season at Cal ended almost before it started when a knee injury knocked him out after just two games. Given a chance to play one more year as a graduate transfer, Watson opted to look elsewhere and apparently has settled on his destination.

The 5-foot-11, 205-pound Watson picked the Longhorns over LSU and Texas Tech. He’ll join a Texas team that averaged just 139.6 rushing yards per game in 2017 with no player gaining more than 381 yards.
Watson ran for 709 yards with 4 touchdowns and caught 21 passes for 241 yards and 4 TDs in 2016, his last full season. In his Cal career, he tallied more than 2,400 all-purpose yards.
