Ferrell recorded 44 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss and 6 sacks as a freshman in 2016. He was especially good at the end of the season, making 6 tackles for loss in the final three games of the year — the ACC Championship against Virginia Tech, the College Football Playoff against Ohio State and the national title game against Alabama.
The 6-foot-5, 260-pound Ferrell shared Clemson’s defensive rookie of the year honors with freshman defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence.
