Clemson football received seven financial aid agreements on Thursday, the same day the Tigers kicked off their fall camp as the reigning national champions.
The program announced the signings of seven players expected to enroll at Clemson in Jan. 2018, including the top three commitments to Clemson’s next recruiting class. The financial aid agreements bind the school to the recruits, but not the other way around.
The seven players who signed Thursday are Cartersville (Ga.) quarterback Trevor Lawrence, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy defensive end Xavier Thomas, Rock Hill (S.C.) South Pointe wide receiver Derion Kendrick, Richburg (S.C) Lewisville defensive tackle Josh Belk, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy linebacker Mike Jones Jr., Covington (Ga.) Newton defensive tackle Darnell Jeffries and Anderson (S.C.) Seneca tight end Braden Galloway.
Lawrence, Thomas and Kendrick are the top three commitments in the class for the Tigers. Lawrence and Thomas are the Nos. 1 and 2 players in the nation, according to the 247sports Composite.
Clemson’s class currently is ranked No. 14 in the nation by 247sports.
