Clemson defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence will not play against The Citadel
Clemson defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence continues to struggle with an ankle injury and will miss Saturday’s game against The Citadel.
Lawrence did not play against Florida State last Saturday as he was spotted in a walking boot during pregame. While the Tigers are still expected to defeat the visiting Bulldogs, they will be missing the services of one of their key defensive players.

This season has been a down year for Lawrence has he has recorded just 1.5 tackles for a loss and 1.0 sacks in nine games this season. That is down from 8.5 tackles for a loss and 6.5 sacks as a freshman a season ago.
Lawrence’s status is sure to be closely monitored following Saturday’s game as Clemson heads into a critical pair of matchups that could decide its College Football Playoff fate.
The Tigers wrap up the regular season next Saturday in a rivalry game against South Carolina before facing Miami in the ACC Championship Game in Charlotte on December 2. If they win out, they will have clinched a spot in the top four.
