Clemson currently has a pair of dynamic defensive tackles on its roster in Dexter Lawrence and Christian Wilkins. It hopes that a recruit from Hawaii can be a part of that roster in the future.
Honolulu defensive tackle Faatui Tuitele, considered the No. 2 player at his position and the No. 24 player in the country by 247Sports.com, released his top five schools on Twitter on Monday evening. The Tigers are in it along with Alabama, Ohio State, Texas and Washington.

Tuitele spoke with 247Sports’ Blair Angulo about his list, noting how one Clemson coach’s gesture impressed him.
“[Clemson defensive line] coach Todd Bates flew down to see me this past spring ball, which meant a lot to me,” he said. “You don’t see a coach often flying that far to Hawaii to watch a recruit.”
Tuitele currently has 36 offers. He was named to the All-American Bowl’s West team in March and will participate in the annual event in January.
