Former Clemson running back Andre Ellington has been claimed off waivers by the Houston Texans, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.

The great news comes one day after the Arizona Cardinals — who drafted Ellington in the sixth round of the 2013 draft — released him following four-plus years of service.
Ellington brings 1,750 career rushing yards and 1,296 receiving yards with 13 touchdowns to an already solid Texans backfield that consists of Lamar Miller, Alfred Blue, and Jordan Todman, and currently ranks 6th in the league with 128.5 yards per game.
With the team’s second-leader rusher in D’Onta Foreman likely out for the season, Ellington could see playing time and contribute right away.
