The Clemson Tigers received some good news on Friday evening as Norfolk (Va.) Maury 4-star cornerback Sheridan Jones announced his commitment to the program. Jones announced the news on his Twitter account via a commitment video.

A former 2020 recruit, Jones made the decision to reclassify to the class of 2019 in January.
“(That) was the best decision for me because I have a minimum number of classes left to satisfy graduation requirements,” he told 247Sports.com’s Michael Clark.
It is good news for Clemson, who has won out for the state of Virginia’s No. 3 player and the No. 16 cornerback in the country, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. Jones received several high-major offers from programs such as Alabama and Ohio State, which were thought to be his other two frontrunners.
Jones becomes the tenth player in the class of 2019 to commit to the Tigers and the fifth to pledge in less than a week.
Last Friday, Louisiana linebacker Bryton Constatin announced his decision to commit to Clemson. It then received a pair of pledges last Saturday in the form of 5-star wide receiver Frank Ladson and dual-threat quarterback Taison Phommachanh. Two days later, Naples, Fla. running back Chez Mellusi joined the class.
