Colorado dismissed outside linebacker N.J. Falo from the football program due to a violation of team rules, the school announced Monday.
Falo was also disciplined by Colorado head coach Mike MacIntyre last season after he and teammate Donald Gordon were arrested following the accusations of them stealing items from a dorm room in April 2016.
The linebacker was suspended the first three games of the season, and recorded 12 tackles and 1.5 sacks as a backup in the remaining 11 contests.
Falo was expected to receive significant playing time as an outside linebacker this upcoming campaign.
With Falo’s dismissal, juniors Terran Hasselbach, Michael Mathewes and Shamar Hamilton (a JC transfer) all will have a chance to vie for a starting gig opposite senior linebacker Derek McCartney.
