From undrafted to a key player for the defending NBA champions, former Duke guard Quinn Cook will sign a multiyear deal with the Golden State Warriors later this week, according to Shams Charania.
From his Yahoo Sports story:
The Warriors plan to wait until their final regular-season game to sign Cook to a two-year deal, league sources said.
Cook has earned a spot on the Warriors’ postseason roster and will enter the playoffs as the team’s starting point guard in Stephen Curry’s absence. With Golden State, Cook has found stability after spending brief time with New Orleans, Dallas, Cleveland and Atlanta over the past two seasons.
Cook was a phenomenal role player at Duke, but there were questions at the time about his pro potential. It’s safe to say those questions have been answered.
