You probably didn’t hear Brennan Besser’s name much during the 2017-18 college basketball season, but the Duke guard is making headlines for an admirable reason this offseason.
From a Chicago Tribune story:
Brennan and sister Rachel will embark on a cross-country journey, biking, walking and jogging more than 3,400 miles across 16 states, starting May 16 in Seattle and ending in New York.
“The primary meaning of ‘Walk On’ is to push forward and never quit in the face of adversity,” Besser said. “We hope to raise a lot of money to redistribute to people we meet along the way and to organizations that are helping these families. But at the same time, it’s a rallying cry.
“We hope to be able to touch the community and shine a light on the American population of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.”

Admirable stuff. You can see why Mike Krzyzewski would want someone like Besser as a member of the Blue Devils.
