Florida State will be without outside linebacker Emmett Rice for the remainder of its game Saturday against Clemson. The sophomore was ejected after a targeting call was upheld in the third quarter and the Seminoles trailing 17-0.
After a Clemson punt, Florida State’s D.J. Matthews took the return. During the play, Rice nailed Clemson’s Ryan Carter with a helmet-to-helmet hit. After the call, officials reviewed the play and upheld it, meaning Rice would miss the remainder of the game.

Many fans from Florida State and Clemson would take issue that Rice celebrated the hit as he ran off the football field, and rightfully so.
Emmett Rice is a disgrace to FSU and should be kicked off the team.

Every coach should be concerned about what kind of men they're raising first and winning second. Stunts like Emmett Rice's from the blatant targeting, to the laughs, to the sleeper joke, should have consequences beyond the one game & they should be imposed by the coach.

Classless move by Emmett Rice to celebrate over the player he knocked out, and then make a sleeping gesture as he gets ejected…all while down 17-0 in the 3rd #FSUvsCLEM

As it turns out, Carter had to leave the game shortly after the hit.
