Verdis Brown a flip possibility?
The next few weeks figure to be an interesting time in Florida State’s football program.
On the heels of a disappointing season, the offseason coaching carousel figures to ramp up as soon as the regular season concludes in less than two weeks.
The Seminoles are believed to be one school that will undergo some sort of change among their coaching staff.
Regardless on whether or not those changes occur, the speculation is something that already appears to be having an impact on the Seminoles recruiting efforts.
A handful of commitments in the 2018 class have taken visits to other schools, and that could lead to some players potentially backing out of their initial commitments if changes do occur.
One player who could fall into this category is 4-star Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy center Verdis Brown.
According to Jeremy Werner of 247Sports, Brown — who is originally from Chicago — took an official visit to Illinois and the Illini feel optimistic about their chances to flip him thanks in small part to the changes that are expected to come in Tallahassee.

Brown committed to the Seminoles in July, and is one of three current offensive line pledges in the class.
Losing him would be a big blow considering he’s one of the nation’s top center prospects and the team’s need to add quality and depth up front in this class.
Since Brown is an early enrollee, he will have to make a decision on his future soon.
Whatever happens in Tallahassee, expect the Seminoles to make a push to keep Brown after their staff is finalized after the season.
