When high school rising senior defensive end Chaz Neal visited Tallahassee, he didn’t leave without committing. Florida State both offered and landed the 3-star defensive end during his visit Thursday afternoon.
“Coach Lawing told me I am a good player, I get off the ball good, I can bend and he wants me at his school,” Neal said according to Noles247. “When they told me they were offering me a scholarship as a defensive end, I took it and I committed.”
Neal is from Seffner, FL, which is just east of Tampa. At 6-foot-7 and 253 pounds, Neal is, by far, the biggest defensive end Florida State has committed for the 2018 class. The other two are fellow 3-star defensive ends Stacy Kirby and Patrick Joyner.
He is the 14th prospect the Seminoles have signed up for next year’s recruiting class. Before he committed Thursday, Florida State held the No. 3 spot in the ACC and 10th nationally on the 247Sports Composite Rankings list for the 2018 recruiting class.
