A leadoff, inside-the-park home run by Carsyn Gordon in the bottom of the eighth inning lifted Florida State to a 2-1 victory against Auburn in the NCAA Softball Tournament Tallahassee Regional on Saturday.
With the victory, the Seminoles advanced to the championship round on Sunday, where they will meet the winner of the elimination-bracket game between Auburn and either Kennesaw State or Jacksonville State.

The Tigers opened the scoring in the fourth inning on a one-out sacrifice fly to center field that scored Casey McCrackin. But the Seminoles tied it in the bottom of the inning on an RBI single from Cali Harrod.
Sunday’s game is scheduled for noon. A Florida State victory puts the Seminoles into the Super Regionals. A Florida State loss will force a winner-take-all final game immediately following.
