Jameis Winston left Florida State as one of the most decorated football players in school history. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback won a national championship with the Seminoles in the 2013 season, part of a campaign in which he became the program’s first Heisman Trophy winner since 2000.
On Friday, Winston took to Instagram to congratulate coach Jimbo Fisher on a successful career at Florida State as well as wish him luck at Texas A&M.
The obvious level of respect that Winston still has for Fisher should be great for Seminoles fans to see, despite what their feelings for the coach may be after he left for Texas A&M. It’s a nice sendoff from a player who thrived under Fisher’s system and helped lead the Seminoles to their first national championship since the 1999 season.
