Florida State coach Willie Taggart is in the middle of touring the state, stopping in hubs across Florida to chat with Seminoles fans from all corners of the state.
At his most recent stop in Orlando, one fan asked about the potential for a grudge match with Texas A&M and former Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher. And Taggart’s response might intrigue any Seminoles fans looking for revenge.

“The answer to your other question, you gotta ask them if they want to play us,” Taggart tells the fan.
It’s a pretty nondescript answer, but the tone certainly makes it seem like Taggart is game for a nonconference matchup with Texas A&M at some point. And by putting it in Fisher’s court, he gets to make it look like the Aggies are scared to play his Seminoles.
The challenge for the Seminoles in scheduling Texas A&M is that they have an eight-game conference slate, the obligation to play Notre Dame between every two to four years on a schedule that is set through 2037 and then playing Florida in a rivalry game every season. They’ve also got a series set up with Boise State in 2019 and 2020, then a game against West Virginia set for 2020.
So it’s hard to see when exactly they’d be able to plug in Texas A&M. However, fans would certainly eat it up if they could.
