Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson had his best season with the Yellow Jackets in 2014. His team went 11-3 and won the Orange Bowl. He sees some similarities in this year’s team, according to Ken Sugiura of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
“This team is really composed a little bit like our ’14 team, in that we’ve got a new quarterback and a couple of new guys, but the majority of them have played,” Johnson said, per Sugiura. “And hopefully, we’d love to have the same result we had in ’14. That’d be great.”
The Yellow Jackets will have a new starting quarterback, likely Matthew Jordan, with new starters at A-back and B-back. There are 16 returning starters overall.
However, Johnson added it’s “really hard to gauge a team” this early in the season, per Sugiura.
