“First off I would like to thank God for opening doors for me so that I can have the opportunities that I’ve had,” he wrote. “Secondly I wanna thank my mom for being there for me through all of our struggles, I can’t thank you enough MOM.
“I’m so glad that I will be furthering my education and my football career at GEORGIA TECH. I’m so happy to be a YELLOW JACKET.”
Thomas is listed as a cornerback at 247Sports, but the offer letter he included in his Tweet said he was a wide receiver/athlete, so there appears to be some uncertainty of where he might play.
The 3-star prospect is ranked the 134th-best cornerback in the 2018 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings, which has him rated No. 234 in Florida and 1,476 nationally.
The 6-foot-2, 204-pound Thomas also received offers from Florida, Auburn, Mississippi State, Indiana, Wake Forest and 13 other schools, according to 247Sports. He attends Niceville (Florida) High School.
With his addition, the Yellow Jackets possess the 11th-best 2018 recruiting class according to 247Sports. Georgia Tech has 14 recruits in the class, all 3-star prospects.
