Iowa State is still in the mix for a coveted prospect.
On Friday evening, Apopka (Fla.) Wekiva safety Brandon Hill announced his top 10 schools, and the Cyclones survived the cut, along with Maryland, Minnesota, Virginia, Missouri, N.C. State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Duke and South Florida.

Rated as a 3-star prospect, per 247Sports, Hill holds 23 offers.
With Iowa State among those still in the mix, Matt Campbell and his staff have their work cut out entering the final stretch of Hill’s recruitment. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound prospect is aiming to announce his commitment before his senior season, which gives the Cyclones three months — give or take — to emerge as the front-runner.
To this point, that doesn’t appear to be the case. There has been relatively little public buzz between the two, although the Cyclones are one of his top 10 schools.
Hill is ranked as the nation’s No. 492 player, the No. 37 safety prospect and the No. 57 player in Florida, per 247Sports. Iowa State has one pledge from a safety, 3-star prospect Vonzell Kelley (Lee Summit, Mo.).
