With the Iowa State Cyclones, loyalty pays off, as 28 students discovered on Monday.
Iowa State athletic director Jamie Pollard tweeted out a major announcement honoring some of the Cyclones’ most dedicated fans.
Some days I get to do cool things. Just sent a thank you email to each of the 28 students who attended every men’s basketball game this year. We decided to provide them each a free student season ticket next year as a thank you for their commitment to perfect attendance!

That’s right. All 28 students who attended every Iowa State home basketball game last year will get free tickets to Hilton Coliseum for the 2018-19 season. The all sports package for Cyclones athletics costs $249 for the year, for perspective.
Those students saw only 9 wins last year in 16 games as the Cyclones had a bad slide from the 2016-17 campaign. Still, three of those wins were against No. 8 Texas Tech, No. 15 West Virginia and No. 17 Oklahoma, so at least they saw some good games.
Iowa State has plenty of room and potential for improvement next season. Lindell Wigginton and Cameron Lard are talented freshmen, and Nick Weiler-Babb is gearing up for a stellar senior season. If Wigginton doesn’t enter the NBA draft, the Cyclones will be set.
And those 28 dedicated fans will have a front row seat to the action.
