Iowa State football announced the date for its 2018 spring game on Friday.
The Cyclones will play its annual spring game on April 14 with kickoff either at 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. ET. The game will be played at Jack Trice Stadium.
It will be the first look at coach Matt Campbell’s 2018 group following the Cyclones’ impressive 2017 season.
The Cyclones went 8-5 and knocked off Memphis in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl to cap off a breakout year for the program.
The year started rocky with losses to Iowa and Texas, but the Cyclones stunned eventual Big 12 champion Oklahoma in Norman, Okla., and TCU in Ames, Iowa.
Quarterback Kyle Kempt became a star after leading Iowa State to its 38-31 win over Oklahoma. He finished the year with 1,787 yards passing and 15 touchdowns.
Campbell’s remarkable season attracted plenty of programs wanting to steal away the second-year coach from Iowa State. But the Cyclones were able to extend Campbell’s contract and ensure his presence on campus a little longer.
