The news was expected late last year after his father, Dana Dimel, left his post as Kansas State’s offensive coordinator to become the coach at UTEP. Dimel confirmed in January that he would be transferring and listed three possible destinations but decided on the UTEP over Texas A&M and Missouri.
Dimel additionally wrote that he will begin pursuing a master’s degree in leadership studies this fall.
Dimel finished his three-season career at Kansas State with 241 rushing yards, 418 receiving yards and 25 total touchdowns. He recorded a career-high 261 receiving yards during the 2015 season.
