Jesse Ertz was the centerpiece of Kansas State’s offense last season, so he doesn’t appreciate it when people demean his athleticism.
He’s not the only one who draws remarks like that, either. Because of Kansas State’s reputation for developing lower-rated recruits, Ertz said people don’t give the Wildcats proper credit.
“What probably annoys me more is when you do something good and people follow that up with, well, Bill Snyder is just drawing the most out of you,” Ertz said. “That is another backhanded remark I get a lot. It’s weird.
“Apparently we at K-State are terrible athletes and we are only good for those reasons.”
“I’m not going to outrun Lamar Jackson, but I don’t feel like I run badly, by any means,” Ertz said.
