Xavier Sneed, sophomore forward for the Kansas State Wildcats, is getting in some extra offseason competition with a traveling band of American players in Belize this year.
Sneed is taking part in the Sports Reach basketball mission trip to the Central American country of Belize, according to the Wichita Eagle. The Kentucky-based Christian organization will field a team of American college players to play five games over 10 days.
The team left Thursday and will play in Belize City, San Ignacio and Maruba. They’ll return to the U.S. on Aug. 18.
Troy’s Wesley Person, Western Kentucky’s Andrew Hammond, Campbellsville’s Jalen Coates, St. Bonaventure’s David Andoh, Hillsdale’s Evan Neaveu and Stedman Lowry, Lipscomb’s Rob Marberry and former Kansas player Evan Maxwell make up the rest of the team.
The 6-foot-5 Sneed, from St. Louis, averaged 7.1 points and 2.6 rebounds per game during his freshman year.
