The Kansas Jayhawks saw their season end on Saturday night with a 95-79 loss to the Villanova Wildcats in the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament.
A matchup pitting the last two remaining No. 1 seed was decided behind the arc as Villanova buried a Final Four record 18 3-pointers.
Devonte’ Graham led Kansas with 23 points, while Eric Paschall led Villanova with 24.
Here’s what Bill Self had to say to CBS’ Tracy Wolfson immediately after the game:
“It’s going to end sad for 67 of us in the tournament. And whether it was a game we were never in or one that ends on the last possession, it still ends abruptly. Our kids put us in position to get here. But give Villanova credit. They were unbelievable. They could stretch five guys. We knew that for us to have a chance they would have to miss some, but they got us discombobulated. They shot the ball well and seemingly had mismatches every time. One game shouldn’t take away from what we accomplished this season. But you know what, the best team definitely did win today.”
Here’s a collection of Self’s postgame comments from Twitter:
Bill Self: "When we got spread out, our game plan went to crap. […] Credit to them, they were the superior team."

"I thought they were great. That's as good a team as we've played against, that I can remember….They'll be hard for anyone to deal with if they shoot the ball like that." – Bill Self

Bill Self: It was a game that we knew we'd have to play well. We knew they'd have to miss some decent looks, but they got anything they wanted. As good of a team that we played against. #kubball
