The Kansas Jayhawks have added to their defensive backfield with the commitment of junior college cornerback Ricky Thomas on Wednesday.
Thomas announced his decision to join the Jayhawks on Twitter.

Thomas attended Blinn College in Brenham, Texas, for the first two years of his collegiate career. He came out of Dutchtown High School in Geismar, Louisiana, in the Class of 2016.
Last season as a redshirt freshman, Thomas had 3 interceptions, one of which he ran back for a touchdown, and finished with 20 tackles. He was listed at 5-foot-10 and 165 pounds going into last year, according to the Blinn website.
Derrick Neal was the only senior cornerback for the Jayhawks last season, and Kansas has some experienced juniors returning this year. The Jayhawks also signed three cornerbacks in their 2018 class before Thomas, including two junior college transfers.
Kansas will have plenty of cornerback competition next year, it seems.
