Chris Mack and Louisville are still working in the Class of 2018 and in the transfer market to help fill out their roster for next season, but with Class of 2019 recruiting in full swing they’re also trying to stay ahead of the curve.
That’s why the extended fast-rising 2019 power forward Orlando Robinson recently, according to a report from Michael McCammon of The Cardinal Authority.
The 6-foot-10 forward from Los Angeles had a big April, impressing on the AAU circuit with his performance against NBA star Derrick Favors’ AAU program at an event. He scored 20 points and snatched 10 rebounds in that game, while shooting 70 percent in that tournament.
Now, Louisville has joined DePaul, New Mexico, Southern Utah, Georgia Tech and Tulane in offering the big man. The Louisville, DePaul and Georgia Tech offers have all come since the start of May.
Robinson is raw and needs to add strength to effectively rebound at the next level, but Louisville is hoping they can take advantage of the potential by being one of the first major programs to offer the rising prospect. And expect Louisville fans to take more notice of Robinson now that Mack has recently followed him on Twitter, according to a report from Jason Riley of WDRB.
