Former Louisville basketball standout Kyle Kuric is headed to a new team in Europe, moving to Russia after playing in Spain.
Kuric signed a two-year deal with Zenit St. Petersburg, EuroCupBasketball reported Wednesday. Kuric played the past few seasons in Spain with Gran Canaria, averaging 15.1 points per game and shooting 50 percent from 3-point range.
The former Cardinals star returned to the court in 2016 after sitting out the 2015-16 season after doctors discovered a brain tumor that required surgery. Prior to sitting out and recovering from surgery, Kuric scored the second-most points in the previous three EuroCup seasons with 615 and made the most threes with 122.
Kuric played four seasons at Louisville, including making the Final Four in 2012.
