The Miami Hurricanes announced on Tuesday that redshirt senior wide receiver Dayall Harris would be leaving the program, according to multiple reports.
Harris originally committed to Miami from Copiah-Lincoln Community College in the Class of 2016. The 3-star JUCO receiver caught 19 passes for 182 yards and 2 touchdowns in two seasons with the Hurricanes.
He has one remaining season of eligibility remaining, and it’ll be interesting to see what he does with that year. Harris collected his degree this spring in sociology/theater arts, so he could elect to take a graduate transfer and would be immediately eligible to play elsewhere.
Harris originally committed to Ole Miss out of high school as a 3-star prospect in the Class of 2014. He wound up leaving Ole Miss after his freshman season for Copiah-Lincoln before joining Miami in 2016.
In 2017, Harris was suspended three games for a violation of team rules. However, the press release makes it seem that the decision to leave was his.
With the wide receivers room getting crowded at Miami with the addition of the Class of 2018, he likely can find more playing time elsewhere if he chooses to play in 2018.
